R.K.Foundation is a registered public charitable trust established in memory of late Sri.R. Krishnan & Smt. Ponnammal with a view to help the needy since 2003

The foundation tries to create a bridge between people and non-governmental organizations involved in services relating to: Education of children/women from low socio economic backgrounds, health care for the poor, functional vocational skills and other human services. The foundation tries to mobilize more resources to network with various likeminded organizations & institutions to promote efficient & effective giving.

Core Projects:

  1. Vastra: The Old Clothes Bank: Vastra provides both new and used clothing to people living in poverty, making no distinction of age, gender, race, colour, religion, ability or nation of origin. In order to do this effectively Vastra partners with other non-profit organisations working in the areas of health, education, human care and other services
  2. Aahaar: The Food Bank: Aahaar sources & contributes food, food grains, vegetables, fruits, edible oils etc. These are distributed to various organizations & to the people in need. Aahaar also accepts food coupons that can be exchanged at Food world or at other grocery outlets
  3. Aarogya: Medical Relief: The foundation addresses the needs of less-privileged in various rural areas in terms of arranging medical check-ups, providing First-aid kits, & essential Medicines through organizations and NGO’s involved in healthcare, and other supporting services
  4. Vidhya: Educational Aid: Supports children of rural government schools with clothes, new note books & other stationery materials, scholarships. rural government schools are supported with computers, play equipments, Science labs & libraries
  5. Artificial limbs, Mobility Aids & Assistive Devises: Supports the physically challenged with artificial limbs, other Mobility Aids & Assistive Devises
  6. Soukya: Essential Surgeries for children from low socio economic backgrounds
  7. Dhanvanthri: Supports underprivileged children who may be dependent on medicines for a prolonged period of time OR for life
  8. Renewable energy projects: Tree planting, Solar lanterns: R.K.Foundation strongly encourages the planting of indigenous trees and trees that are appropriate to the local environment. As trees play a crucial role as fundamental components of the biodiversity that forms the foundation of the living networks and systems that provide us all with health, wealth, food, fuel and vital ecosystem services our lives depend on. They help provide breathable air, drinkable water, fertile soil and a stable climate Students of rural government schools, from low socio economic backgrounds are supported with solar lanterns
